Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the app.
A. Account Information: Name, Email address or phone number, User type (Deaf user or Interpreter), Languages you know or request, Profile rating (interpreters only)
B. Communication Data: Text chat messages (stored securely), Call connection logs (date, duration, participants), signaling data (temporary, for call setup only)
C. Device & Technical Information: Device push notification token, Device type, OS version (for debugging & stability), App usage logs (crash reports, error logs)
Information We Do Not Collect Or Store
Signwave does not: Record or store video calls, Record or store audio from calls, Record camera footage, Record microphone audio in the background, Track your location. All video communication is peer-to-peer and is not stored on our servers.
How We Use Your Information
We may use the information we collect from you for various purposes, including:
Connect users with interpreters, Send call notifications, Enable real-time video communication, Store and display chat history, Improve matching using language & rating, Improve app stability and performance and we do not use your data for advertising.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
Information is only shared: With interpreters during a live call (name + call context), With secure cloud hosting providers (encrypted storage), When legally required by law enforcement, We do not share data with advertisers.
Data Storage & Security
All data is encrypted during transmission (HTTPS / TLS). Authentication uses secure token-based systems, Access to backend systems is restricted and monitored, Calls are not recorded, Sensitive credentials are stored securely on device. However, no internet system is 100% secure.
Data Retention
Chat history is stored until you delete it. Account data is stored while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
Your Rights
You have the right to: Access your data, Correct inaccurate data, Delete your account and data, Withdraw consent, Deactivate your account.

Push Notifications
We use push notifications to:
Alert interpreters of incoming calls, Notify users about messages, Inform about important account updates. You can disable notifications in your device settings but this will make the application not useful as the application depends on notification for call request intimation and cannot work without this permission.
Children's Privacy
Signwave is not intended for children under 13. Children under 13 should use the app only with parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Users
If you access Signwave outside your home country, your data may be processed in other countries where our servers operate.

We reserve the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the effective date will be updated accordingly. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any updates. Users can also access the Privacy Policy from the application.
